Since everyone's expecting me to post about it...

Ah yes, the infamous game of LIFE that a bunch of us played on Sunday and [livejournal.com profile] hiddenbear already posted about. My wife and I did indeed have five children: twin boys, and then two girls and another boy who had to ride along stuck between the other pegs in my plastic SUV because I was out of holes to stick the kids in. (Plastic SUV? Yes, plastic SUV... that's the other update we all noticed, along with the lack of gender specification on what color peg you have to marry). With all those kids in the back, I could see that "College: pay $50,000 per child" square coming a mile away, and sure enough I landed on it... after having a midlife crisis and leaving my cozy policewoman job to become a schoolteacher (low salary). Horrors! Of course I finished in last place. Last minute thoughts about getting sterilized? Jesus Christ, no. If there were two things that game could've used it was a sterilization option (similar to homeowners' insurance when you think about it) and the opportunity to spin for an abortion when you land on a "baby" square. Durrrrrrrrr.

The real news is that I'm trying to find some space in my life. I've gotten too many of the things that I wanted to be finding it so hard to get through the week. I wanted... an easier life than this, didn't I? Space? Time for cool creative things? So, along with getting my Wednesdays back from the Carnegie class, I've put my tae kwon do membership on hold for a month. I want to finish my Java certification studies (I did a ton of that last weekend, so only 3 chapters left out of 9), and I have a really fascinating poem idea and I want to let my foot heal instead of reinjuring it every Thursday. So this is good: reclaiming my life somewhat. I'll try to be good about stretching, and when I go back I can make a more serious push for my red stripe belt.

Lastly, the H&M in the mall is now open. Not sure how much men's clothing they had, [livejournal.com profile] hiddenbear, sorry for not noticing, but there it is: something to explore. I picked up an adorable corduroy skirt (long, for work) and green cardigan for myself. So soft and cute. I will wear it tomorrow so I can be soft and cute during all my afternoon meetings.
