So glad it's a 3-day weekend.

This past week is oddly difficult to remember. I think it was frittered away -- certainly my work hours were whittled down -- by some dumb inconsequential one-offs like a dermatology checkup (I'm fine) and a duck tour with some coworkers. Some political nonsense arose at work near the end of the week, and I kind of got into it on chat with the PM of the Bad Organization. When he encouraged me to "vent" to him, I told him flat-out that venting implies trust, and trust was in short supply. What I didn't say is that I remember the last time he used that line on me... it was 2019, I did vent to him, and he came back and trash-talked me to the director du jour and nearly cost me my job. So fuck you, slimy PM, and also your attempts to write about what you'd like to do in the area my org has been working on for years. Also the horse you rode in on. Also the fact that I fell behind on email partly because of you.

Maybe more interesting: I split a semiprivate handstand lesson with a friend I made in the gym, and that was fun. I was recommended magnesium glycinate as a sleep helper, and discovered that 400mg knocks me out hard for the night (might get a bottle, and see what 200mg does). I tried a couple of new Netflix shows with the bug, and visited the ICA with the squirrel.

Our tenant in the cottage -- affectionately known as the five-ant -- is planning to break her lease in 3 months to move in with her boyfriend & his wife, so the project of replacing her is now on the horizon. There's a possible bathroom upgrade to be done, but we all wanted to do that between tenants next year, not between tenants at holiday time, so for now we're probably just looking for a new tenant who will take the place as-is. It's not all that bad (the only really substandard part is the bathroom sink), but I've realized it tweaks my childhood-affected sensibilities a little bit to rent out a place that's even somewhat below par. I'll get over it.
