Monday through Thursday wrapup
Monday: our anniversary. It involved a long dinner at Legal's (amazing how there's always room for a profiterole), and then we came home to exchange presents. The first year is paper, so my gift to him was that book you cut into pieces and make a clock out of and his to me was half a dozen origami roses (he taught me how to make one--really tough!) and a gift certificate to the Paper Source. So sweet and inventive and creative he is! Snugglies!!! :) And next year is cotton.... hmmm.
Tuesday: AJ and RC came over, and RC had a shiny diamond on her finger... and is thus feeling all those things you feel when you're engaged (mostly very happy). It was good to see that, even though it only means I have one more year of her friendship before sprogging takes over her life. Oh well... she wants it all so badly I know it'll make her happy.
Wednesday: utterly huge day. The morning is about to get its own monster post so I'll skip it for now... and then I worked for 5.5 hours and went straight to my Dale Carnegie graduation class. That was pretty emotionally draining as always. My last chance to use the stopwatch, and lots of people cried as they talked about what the class had done for them. Quite touching. I ended up telling the class what a difference it made to me that they saw me as someone who actually had something to give... and then I was almost crying too. Damn that cheeseball class. It's true though. HLM came with me as my guest... everyone brings guests... so he got to see me in full cheesy swing. Then the obligatory drink/food with the teacher, and I finally came home stumbling from exhaustion.
Today: sick joke that it is, I worked extra-long hours to partially make up for the short day yesterday! Ahahaha. Ha. Ha. I was kinda burned out, truth be told. Then I went to advanced TKD and re-hurt my foot, but not too badly. I was almost grateful for the chance to sit out the last half of the class.
Every day: sooo much bathroom progress. It's great fun, returning every day to see what the contractors have done while I was gone--like getting a present every night, albeit a messy dusty one. The short version is, we have walls and a ceiling again, and as of today a new window with frosted glass. We also got our ceramic tiles today, finally. Beautimous. Soon some of them will be on the walls. :)
