Eggs and earrings

I feel newly reassured that I'm friends with B for a good reason. As y'all know, she's getting married soon, and I do something about her bachelorette party or wedding almost every day now (little things: yesterday I bought a pretty card to give her, today I faxed a pay stub to Rent-A-Center so they'll give me a TV, etc). Well, on Monday I went to Claire's to look for earrings that might match her necklace, since she had mentioned she hadn't found any yet. I ended up buying two pairs of what we'll call Earring A, which I liked a lot and wanted a pair of myself, and another pair we'll call Earring B, and on Tuesday morning I dropped them in the mail to her. Well, she called tonight, and get this... she had already bought Earring B herself... at Claire's... on Monday. After she gives that pair back to me (and keeps Earring A, because she likes them) we'll each have both pairs. Little thing called a wavelength, anyone? Keep in mind that I hadn't seen the necklace in several weeks.

Also, this morning I heard the first whispers from E and V that they're ready to start scheduling that little mass of human-DNA tissue known as Baby II. To all of our surprise, the gestational carrier we had the first time has popped back up out of nowhere and said she's willing to carry the baby... against all odds, the dream team, reassembled. We can't use the same agency though, since the guy who ran the last one has been indicted for stealing from clients and isn't taking calls anymore (yep, seriously). The following excerpt from my letter back to E is still cracking me up:

My eggs are, of course, ready for you any time (except the last week
of January '06, when I intend to be frying them on the sands of
Belize). I guess one question is who's the [agency guy] replacement. On the
right of my gmail screen right now there are ads for:

www.creatingfamilies.com <-- because you're not a family already
www.babies-by-levin.com <-- oh god. Take me, Levin, take me!
www.Surrogacy-Solutions.com <-- one part surrogacy to 9 parts saline
www.conceptualoptions.com <-- whoa, conceptual, dude.

Honestly... babies by Levin... could there be anything more unintentionally creepy?
