Guess I'd better stop whining

Not only does the gmaps pedometer tell me I'm only 2.6 miles from work (which amazes me; I always thought it was much more like 4, which is the only reason I've never walked), Money magazine is now telling me that software engineering is the #1 best job in America.

They gave it a B for stress, B for flexibility, A for creativity and C for ease of entry though, which don't seem that high. It beat out some higher-paying jobs, but I'm still imagining the $80,500 average salary and the 46% 10-year growth number (whatever that means) are a lot of why it popped to the top.

Still, a good reminder that my job doesn't actually suck just because it's less awesome than it was in late '04. It's just down from excellent to pretty damn good.
