I'm with you, actually. Rather, I don't mind the look of a Twitter blog but I don't want to be bothered with the chats.

Internally at work, everyone on my team uses gmail status as a sort of Twitter-like indication of either personal or professional status, and I do kind of like that, but I don't want them to either persist or to bother me in any way.
