Much better... at T minus 13 days

My little countdown has reminded me of a nerdy one-liner I happen to like: if rocket scientists are supposed to be so smart, how come they all count backwards? *snerk* :)

I feel much more human today. Did lots of nice things already this weekend that helped: nice dinner followed by backrub and a GDD on Friday night, sitting on my porch and going to the library and stuff on Saturday (and I bought lingerie for the wedding night--slightly expensive--and a nice grey-with-black-trim T-shirt from the men's section for cheap. Funny, I look pretty good as a small man). I also went sparring on Saturday for definitely the last time before the wedding, fighting one larger slower girl and one smaller quicker girl. I suppose you can guess which fight went better.

Of course, there's more wedding progress: last night HLM and I compared our wedding to-do lists and worked on the ceremony and program together for a while. I'm getting more and more excited about the ceremony itself, though some people may hate it, because it's funny--yes, intentionally, as in humorous. It starts all sweet and sappy, and the vows are something I'm very satisfied with at this point (mine are quite close to my original conception of them, and HLM is reshuffling a few words and doing the same thing backwards, pretty much line by line, ending with "Today, before this company, I join my life to yours." Very poetic, and cool idea on his part.) Then, just when the audience should be about to melt into a big puddle of syrup, it gets funny. It's really liberating to remember that it's our ceremony, we're writing it and it can be whatever we want. When everything is over I'm gonna have to send it to ultimatewedding.com for their list of ceremonies--I owe that site for a lot of bits and pieces and ideas, but ours is definitely unique.

Today was almost marred by a nasty 77-bus-missing episode, but I blew $10 on a taxi to save my workout. I'm glad I did, because it was a good solid workout, and I garnered a bit of male attention after my last set of bench presses. ;) Now I'm at work and I've already done my bit to screw over The Man by doing all the wedding programs on the company copier. But I'm not actually working, yet. I'd better get to it.
