Perseverence? Indomitable spirit? Naaaaaah.
So, I've suspended my tae kwon do membership for a month as of today. I was just so tired of freaking out about it... I decided I want to enjoy what's left of spring (and my bday) without ruining it all by being stressed over what's supposed to be a fun and maybe even empowering hobby. I don't know if that's a loser move or what. If so, go on and paint the L on my forehead, because I couldn't put myself through that anymore. I'm hoping that the time off will give me some perspective, and I'll be able to go in and have fun again. And in the meantime I can do other things, plus grow my nails out and paint 'em silver.
This weekend... Saturday was good stuff. I had a couple of good workouts (running outside, TKD) and then a couple of good parties including
rumgirl's bbq. No worries
horshack, I'll get ya together with HLM sometime! Heading on to T's game night, we played this game called Vinci and I, well, sucked for the first half, but then came up from behind and completely kicked ass. T said it was the least close game of Vinci he's ever seen. All because I had an empire in decline that nobody ever messed with, and a new empire that was growing, and nobody really noticed I had a sustainable situation until it was too late. Heh heh. :)
Sunday I went to stretching class and lifting (mostly mediocre since my hamstrings were killing me already, but I upped my leg press weight by really focusing on squeezing my glutes, and that was cool). Saw X2. Talked to my mother, which was distressing as usual... it's like I'm talking to a blank wall, but somehow it's also like she's talking to a blank wall, even though both of us are trying. Garhhhh! :( It turns out my grandparents probably won't be at my wedding (due to old age combined with fear of flying), which is kind of too bad. Then HLM called his mother and found out that his grandfather probably won't come either. Both sets of parents had a lot of questions about wedding plans, so we agreed we should start working on them again. We got signed up for a tango class this summer (eight Tuesday nights starting in mid-June, should be fun!), and agreed to start trying to write the ceremony. I think we should make it short...
(Organist plays processional)
(Soyfetus glides down the aisle. Tears come to everyone's eyes.)
Officiant: Dearly beloved....
Soyfetus: I do!
HLM: I do too.
(Organist plays recessional)
