Light and not-being-scared are the BEST drugs...
Yesterday was kewl. We walked to the post office where they were holding our/my new digital camera and we played with it, coincidentally reaching 100% okay level when a) A took a random picture of my butt and b) we talked and agreed we felt okay now. Then we bought a new bookshelf. Then, although I would have been happy to stay home and snuggle, we went to game night at my friend T's (where I got to play a neat new game called Vinci, in which empires expand and go into decline).
Today's been more chores, and stretching at TKD (I had a good talk with the desk guy about my current frustrations, not being coached enough and so on), and then lifting in Arlington. God I love my gym now--it doesn't have everything I'd like, but the people are nice, there are murals on the walls, and natural light comes in from all four directions... which is quite a powerful drug after a week in mycaveoffice. Sunday afternoons are becoming the high point of my week. Anyway, today I wore my T-shirt and it wasn't a vanity day, more just contemplation/meditation/hanging out. It felt good, at least until I did lunges and squats, which made me go lie down for a while in the stretching area feeling pukey. My butt is a bit wussy. I suppose I'll see improvement soon.
Oh yeah, I finished The Speed of Dark while I was sitting in Starbucks having my pre-lifting mocha. It was flat-out amazing. When it comes out in paperback it'll be high on my list of gifts to give people.
