First weekend in the condo

At long last I have had a weekend here. No, it's not perfect yet, but we have an assembled breakfast bar and a feistily painted bathroom. (We don't have a couch. The couch people fucked up and it'll get here on the 26th. I am deeply annoyed.)

Saturday: woke up with a hurt knee from twisting it somehow during breakfast bar assembly on Friday night, so sparring/cardio was not about to happen. Feh. I did a lot of laundry and sorting out clothes to give away . The stats on the items I'm getting rid of were sort of interesting:

Torso too short: 3
Worn out: 6
Stained: 2
Too big: 5
Cat ate unmendable hole in: 2
Just never wear anymore, style has changed: 12

I know I'm a dweeb for keeping the numbers, but I was hoping to find a theme that might guide me in future purchases. I'm REALLY interested in clothing management at the moment, which also probably sounds weird, but I know people with such vastly varying styles that I know it really is a topic that merits some thought.

, then painted stripes in my bathroom for about three hours (while listening to VAST, which is excellent, for the second time) before my fondue date with HLM in the living room. I meant to be more productive, but after the post-fondue celebrations I was wayyyyy too lazy and passive. Theoretically I don't like Valentine's Day, but after the last few years of always getting good sex on Feb 14, I'm starting to like it a little better. Funny, that.

Sunday: I was more comfortable in McGym than I have been in the past, and to my shock I didn't look too awful either. Oh right, I remember now that my idea of hideously flabby does fall solidly into the culturally accepted definition of thin and fit... and yet I am still flabby and I want my ability to do the 9th and 10th pullups to come back. :( I did get to use the squat rack though. A set of real squats! I wriggle in excitement at the memory. After that I scurried off to Central Square with B to go clothes shopping (gaining 5 pieces of clothing; socks don't count), then home to paint my bathroom for another couple hours with [livejournal.com profile] bluechromis. I must mention again how wonderful [livejournal.com profile] bluechromis is, by the way: we both see a crappy bathroom, and I see something to be irritated by until the day I have money to renovate, she sees an opportunity to have fun and be creative without worrying about consequences. Little lesson to be learned there, perhaps? Yeah. Anyway, I finished the black & white stripes and we did the red trim together. It needs a second coat in some places, but it's already a wildly cheerful bathroom. Meowr!

Now I've gone straight from starving to spiking my blood sugar with a baked potato. Oog. Do I feel nauseous from that or from all the hours in the small room with the solvent-based paint? Either way it's time to do a little work-reading and then call my friend V.
