Well, that was a nice 12-hr work day

Whee.... late workies. Was it stupid? I dunno. Maybe, but I've been wanting to finish up those scripts all week, and I am not so quick with shell programming, and tomorrow is final code freeze, and they work now.

Today's excitement was good stuff though. I've posted before about having a construction site outside my window at work, and right now we have a piledriver sitting just across the road from our window. A piledriver, if you've never seen one before, is tall, like about twice as tall as our 4-story building tall, and metal, and rather thin when you consider its height. Think about that. Now think of a tropical lightning storm of the type we experienced today... did you suddenly think lightning rod?

I've never heard the sound of lightning striking before. It's almost a quiet noise, a hiss like a whip just before BAM!, everyone else hears it too and comes running into our office to see what happened.

That was satisfying. :)

Dr. Frankenstein is certainly missing out on that untapped resource. You'd think that a company would be smart enough to hook up a few hundred batteries to those things during storms. :)

Oh, did you actually see it? That would be spectacular!
