Back to the scene of the whine
So, Friday I crept nervously back into the tae kwon do dojang. What, you ask, it's already been a month? Yes it has. I did forms class on Friday and a real class on Saturday morning, and have thus far avoided humiliation, hyperextending my knees (something I used to do on roundhouse kicks, given the slightest opportunity to forget not to), and being mocked by the teachers. My balance is shot but should come back quickly. My goal this time--seriously!--is to try to do a good job without worrying about it when I don't, which is basically the attitude I have about lifting, and enjoy doing with precision the moves that green belts are allowed to do. I do plan to very consciously make it a lower priority than I did before, just to keep myself from getting too into it again. So since today was a lifting day (making tomorrow a no-no) and Tuesday is tango day, I can't go again until Wednesday--and I'm glad, so there, nyaaaah. :b Figuring out a reasonable weekly workout schedule is going to be difficult... if I don't want to double up too much it looks like Sunday stretch & lift, Monday nothing, Tuesday tango, Wednesday TKD, Thursday lift, Friday TKD forms, Saturday some combination of TKD class, sparring and/or special black belt program class, but hopefully not too much to keep me from doing a good job lifting on Sundays. If I really want to never be sore for lifting, I could do that on Saturdays, which would mean I could to TKD on Mondays, but then I could never spar on Saturday and would have to do it Wednesday nights... yeccch. Also, for work reasons I'd rather have my day off be a work day. Dammit, all this balancing is hard! Annnnn-yway, moving on...
This weekend was nice--Saturday was a bit too busy and people-y but I got a lot done, while Sunday was more just for playing. DP Challenge is having an open self-portrait contest with submissions due on Tuesday, so today I got out the digital camera, messed up the living room to give myself a blank-wall background, and tried to summon up my inner diva. I don' t take photography all that seriously but (or maybe therefore) I had a lot of fun... definitely no worries about lack of respect or whatever from the photographer... so I put all that up on my website, and updated some other pages a bit while I was at it. That was fun. For all my site is essentially worthless, I sure enjoy maintaining it.

I hear you on the workout scheduling issues. I've given up on not being sore :(
