Wedding progress -- one more freak -- nice dream.
We got the invitations in the mail last night! They're very pretty and the printers made no mistakes (though we are now regretting the wording of the reply cards... they're a little vague). However, I'm not sure I like them. See, up to now I thought that when we got them in the mail we could quickly send them out. But now, quite suddenly, I understand that we have to find the right stamps (i.e. take one to post office, ask how much it will cost to mail), put the stamps on, print the addresses on the outer envelopes (i.e. dig through old ornamental fonts that I paid $50 for in high school, looking for a font that almost matches the one we chose from the printer), hand-write the informal names on the inner envelopes, and stuff them, and sealing-wax them. Wait to collect addresses of the relatives we don't have yet, repeat process for smaller batch. Sigh. HLM and I were both getting grouchy discussing the specifics, and I think it's because we both just underestimated the task.
Life events? I had a nice dinner with pooh girl... it was only a little overstimulating, and I found out that she doesn't have a TV either! It's always nice to discover one more.
Last night I dreamed about the Harry Potter book had been released. It will be true so soon. One more day. :)

Mmmmmm... dreams.
Granted I was already feeling a little maudlin but...
There was a little 9 year old girl with cancer who she got in touch with (I don't know how but it was an american girl and they were totally unrelated) - they corresponded over email quite a bit and apparently it was quite a special experience for the little girl (as you would imagine). In any case, the little girl was terminal and in the last week of her life JK spent hours with her on the phone reading book 4 to her (before it'd been released). Afterwards, she donated 100k to the scholarship fund established in the little girl's name.
Re: Granted I was already feeling a little maudlin but...
This isn't a very deep thought, but it would SUCK to be terminal. Can you imagine being into some series and thinking how you wouldn't live to find out what happened? Eeeep. :( I really hope Rowling told her the whole damn story arc as well as reading to her from Goblet of Fire.
