Home Depot Direct: avoid avoid avoid

Did you get that glossy catalog from Home Depot Direct lately? Do not order. Resist, resist. They are clearly just getting off the ground, and so far they are very bad. Do not order the pretty wall lattice; it will arrive broken AND not of the dimension advertised. Do not call to try to return it; you will be on hold forever. Do not call again the next morning to try to return it; you will immediately get a polite enough person but it will be shockingly difficult to prove you are who you say you are, impossible to send the package back yourself (we have to wait for UPS? never had to do that before), and though you then will have a return authorization, you will not have a return authorization number to write down. Just say no!

But just say yes to healthy living. :)

Oh, so many thoughts lately. Yesterday's vet visit was the first time Nala's health has been less than perfect... she has gum disease now and needs her teeth cleaned (and possibly one tooth pulled), which for a cat is essentially surgery since they have to use general anesthesia. To add to the impact of this memento mori, I think the vet who gave me the bad news was younger than me. Sigh... my kitty is 8 and I am 28 and time is passing, and if I wrote down all my thoughts now I would never make it to work today.

Pogo just had to have a tooth cleaning, he's 10. I was bummed too, and it was sad seeing him knocked out. I was happy to have the vet do it at home though, since I got to promptly cuddle him (not that he cared, purely for me). Did I already give you the name of the home visit vet? He was pretty happy the next day too - I think his teeth were definitely bothering him prior to the cleaning, if that's any comfort.

I've been having pangs of "ack, I'm getting up there pretty quick"...must remember that it's but a number. And realistically not all that high of a number.

I want a chemical peel. My my, isn't this all about me. :P

It is all about you -- I figured that out years ago. :)

Would love to have the number of that home vet... although I love our current vet and am just as happy not to see Serabi knocked out, I can easily imagine situations for which a home visit would be better.

Let me know how the chemical peel goes. I could use one too!
