Dialogues and quotes

Voice in my head 1: Tell the internets you are okay; your LJ friends probably think you're still miserable from last week.
Voice in my head 2: No time to post, you should be asleep.

[livejournal.com profile] flexagon: You're still here. You shouldn't work so late. You should go home!
[livejournal.com profile] heisenbug: But... it's easier to stay here than work at home.
[livejournal.com profile] flexagon: I know.
[livejournal.com profile] heisenbug: ...
[livejournal.com profile] flexagon: It's not like I'm really going home either. I'll be at the gym until 10.
[livejournal.com profile] heisenbug: Yeah, see?
[livejournal.com profile] flexagon: But it's the concept, see, it's a conceptual thing.

...And my upstairs neighbor says "I hope we can enroll [livejournal.com profile] heisenbug and/or Keith in the hanging of the [new curtain] rods, maybe even females, as it may not be rocket science, but I have a feeling it is."

Oh sigh. I just said we'd work on it this weekend, because as long as she's being polite and civil that's all I'm asking for. But, lady, you're still a sexist nutcase. And I'm still an engineer, and Keith still went to divinity school, which makes you in this case a very silly sexist nutcase. I may let Keith and/or bug do the work anyway, of course... maybe they can pound in the rods with their mighty Y chromosomes while I'm catching up on some well-deserved R&R. It's not like I'd complain.

I'm sure I'm not the only friend you have who's worked at NASA

Oh noes! My lack of Y chromosomes!

*rolls eyes*

That's annoying. Maybe as you are all helping her out this weekend, you can ask her to get back in the kitchen and bake you a pie.

The bottom part of the Y works very well as a handle (though a serif Y not quite as much). While an X does have more potential handles, the weighting doesn't work quite as well, and you are more likely to scrape or hit yourself with one of the other legs.

Bah humbug to silly sexist nutcase neighbors.
