32,557 is a good number

I like being absentminded sometimes. I've had a Chase Rewards credit card for quite a long time (three years or so) and [livejournal.com profile] bluechromis JUST today told me how to look at and redeem my rewards points online. It's something that hasn't crossed my mind in the last three years... so I went and looked, and sure enough, I had 32,557 points saved up. Every 5000 of those are worth $50, available either as a gift card or a straight discount off my credit card bill, so that's $300 I didn't know I had coming.

I was just whining to [livejournal.com profile] bluechromis about how few positive surprises there have been lately, but I sure got one today. :D Two, if you count the fact that running outside in the cold wasn't as bad as I expected.

I have (what sounds like) the same card, but I can't figure out how to get the cash to just apply to my bill. Instead, they send me a check. Totally inconvenient and silly.

So, how do you do that?

Ah, neato. That option wasn't there a few years ago when I first got the card, and I guess I haven't checked again in a while. Now if only they would just do that automatically...
