Stuff I kind of already knew
Ha ha. "What will I learn about myself tomorrow" indeed. I will learn how insanely grouchy I can get when hauled out of a 2-day work class I was really looking forward to, in order to do bug fixes, is what. Then, I will be reminded of how hard it is for me to tear myself away from bugs, to the point of sometimes skipping workouts when I'm close to getting them. (Can't help it, they're like puzzles... addictive, infuriating little puzzles that often would deserve 3 stars if they appeared in GAMES magazine).
Also, the magic words to get me to work longer on something are "Feel free to leave this like it is; you've made a lot of progress and I can pick it up from here."
Say that, and I'll probably bust my butt to deliver the complete solution, because you are so sweet and I want to pay back the niceness.

I think you want to get immune to those words, because otherwise you get manipulated. Sweetness can be faked, but the work you have to do is real!

I'm aware of the risk of being manipulable. Luckily, there's also risk in saying "feel free to leave it like this". Also, I keep some track of who definitely knows which buttons -- you, my friend, will never get away with this particular one. ;)
