3 things: one good, one less bad and one ridiculous
Some concrete evidence that I'm getting closer to a handstand press: I can now press a headstand, barely, with my head on an aerobics step with two risers underneath. And from there I can push up to a handstand. Last time I worked with risers I could only press with one riser, and there was no path that got me to handstand with no momentum at all -- now there is, just barely. I had a bit of a breakthrough with pressing through the base of my fingers (top part of my palm) like Z-dawg always says to. So that's something to work on next time.
This weekend's had a lot less of the nightmare "can't get everything done" quality that's been pervasive over the last month or so of weekends. While giving credit to the excellent day of gentle rain yesterday, I'd like to think it's also that I decided to stop stressing so much over side projects. It's utterly wrong to be stressed more at the end of the weekend than I am while at work.
Ridiculous thing of the week: due possibly to my statue purchase, I've gotten in the mail a pre-approved application for the Visa Black Card. It's all very dramatic and black. It says The World Awaits. and it says The Black Card is not for everyone... totally true, it's apparently for people who are willing to pay $495 a year to have a credit card with a 24-hour concierge service. Here's my favorite part though:
The Black Card is not just another piece of plastic. Made with carbon, it is the ultimate buying tool.
Ahahahahaha!!! I think the ultimate "buying tool" is the tool who pays for this kind of fake prestige. Though I do vaguely wonder what a concierge service can do for a person.
