When the lights of New York go out...

Well, that was an adventurous little biz trip. My skin did not react at all well to the airplane plus my idiotic decision to try our free Eucerin samples, sigh.... but it was exciting to have people from all the companies in the same room w/o the bosses interfering. Gets it down to the basic level of hey, if we give you x, can you do y with it? sure, we can (or no, we really need it this way). I did all the driving because J was a very tired person when we first got the car. It was scary, for the obvious reason that I hadn't driven since, um, late 2001, but I did pretty well (and J was a very patient and detailed navigator) so I was quite proud of myself as we pulled into the Hertz to give it back. That was when they told us there was a huge blackout and we just might want to consider keeping the car. Ai-yi. And that is how I ended up driving 400 miles to Boston last night with very little food in my tummy, as night fell and all the lights failed to come on. We were listening to NYC radio a lot of the way, initially, and it reminded me a lot of Atlas Shrugged: When the lights of New York go out, we'll know our job is done. It was a thrill to catch a glimpse of the city on our way north, though... there's nothing like Manhattan to make my heart go pitta-pat.

So now I'm just trying to get my head together, get the right files from the laptop to the desktop, and deal with all the wedding email that poured in while I was gone. And tonight I get to start calling around to the people who haven't wedding-replied and remind them all that the favor of a fucking reply was requested. Hello people... we gave you a frickin' custom-printed stamped envelope... mailing something does not get any easier than this, ever. Actually, the majority of those who haven't responded yet are members of Alan's family, so I don't have to deal with it alone.

Lastly and on the happy side, I just got a 15-minute shiatsu massage. Ooooh. I should so do that more often, and possibly very close to the wedding. I just have such a huge feeling of relaxation and space through my neck & upper back area.

A link: let's hear it for research into male birth control. :)

Welcome back

Glad you made it back okay!
That male birth control link is really cool. Not sure I could handle the needle, but I like the lack of side affects.
