A girl, a woman, a dress and a train

Once upon a time there was a seventeen-year-old girl who saw the most spectacular dress ever. The dress was in a catalog. The girl's boyfriend, who was not very wise, suggested the dress would only look good on someone with larger mammary glands. But the girl knew he was wrong. She only loved the dress more, and she bought it and put it on, and the boyfriend was speechless for a full 60 seconds. "You look very... nice", he finally stammered. And the girl and the dress smirked, and lived happily for a long time.

The girl became a woman, and the day came when she had not worn the dress for ten years. Her husband found the dress more severe than he liked, and the woman had few reasons to attend events that were both formal and slutty enough for the dress. So the woman put the dress on to see if it still fit, and found that it stretched to fit her larger shoulders, and she still found it spectacular and could not part with it. She wanted a picture to remember it by.

Then the woman heard of some abandoned train cars in the city, less than two miles from her house. She loved abandoned, illicit things and she persuaded her husband, who was both wise and adventurous, to go with her at sunset to take pictures and have an adventure. Three hours before they left, she remembered what else she had wanted a picture of...

And the dress went happily to the Box of Departure for new adventures, because it had been given the best send-off ever.

The End

You look great, and I'm glad you followed your own thoughts and got the dress (and parted with it in a pleasant fashion.)

Pretty, but watch out for British secret agents. They may seem dashing, but it never goes well if you hang out with them.

Ok.... that second to last photo totally confirms my original thought that you NEED to be a superhero.... or supervillian. Either would work!

Stunning photos!

Ooooh mamma.

My raves are the first of the top row and middle of the second. I originally typed that as "faves," but my phone helpfully corrected it to "raves," which I figured was even better. :)

i love that dress and am sorry it has probably gone onto its next big adventure because otherwise i would want to see if it fit me.

(and the photos are stunning. wow. both composition and subject matter.)

i also have a question -- would you be willing to tell me where you took the pictures? i feel like i should be able to recognize it from the buildings in the background, but i can't...
