So smart it smarts

Ah, this sounds like heaven. I have very few experiences with smart drugs, but I have taken Ritalin twice this year (experimentally) and I sure did have good productive days each time. Provigil sounds even better. Once a week, for studying programming, perhaps? I suppose this is your cue to remind me that All Drugs Have Risks.

We just got back from seeing Inception, and speaking of smart -- that movie is deliciously smart. An action movie that has a well-defined reason to be action-packed, with at least one rather one-dimensional character who has a good reason to be one-dimensional, and how many dream levels? I thought four, but the faq on imdb.com has pretty much convinced me there were five. It doesn't hurt that I love Ellen Page, and now that Leonardo diCaprio has grown up and looks worried all the time, I think he's generally a plus as well.

I wish I could have 50 years with [livejournal.com profile] heisenbug in a world we create with our minds.

Once that article was finished,....

Oh wow.... doc students everywhere are pricking up their ears and are googling Provigil.

All Drugs Have Risks, dear. Consider yourself reminded. :-)

Also, I had no interest in seeing "Inception," but people keep saying such positive things about it. Perhaps it is going on my movies-to-see list.

I like Memento in concept. Maybe some day I'll watch it and see if I like it in execution. :-)

I guess I just missed the part of the Inception marketing where it was billed as a thinking person's movie. I had assumed it was thin substance wrapped in layers of visual effects (and after the Avatar disaster, I have little interest in those). Good to know that there's more to it. I'll keep it in mind for watching.

Ah, yes, provigil. An irresponsible psych prescribed me that once. (Irresponsible because it wasn't really indicated, he was just experimenting it seems.) It is interesting, I would definitely consider it helpful for studying or 3rd year clinicals. Hard to get though.

I saw Inception last night too...it was so much better than I was expecting. I used to really not like Leonardo, but he's aged well. I was laughing at his brow, thinking of you. He needs his corrugator snipped. Anyway, part of me wants to see it again, but another thinks that it won't stand up to careful scrutiny.

provigil, goddamn! siren song. if not risks, at least tradeoffs, though, it sounds like. productivity and brain flow but without creativity.

seriously.
