Frittering

Frittered this weekend away unproductively, but on good things... bike riding with the bug, some time with old friends, baking cookies with egg whites and protein powder in them, and somewhat spontaneously seeing Cirque du Soleil. (It was Ovo, which [livejournal.com profile] dilletante already did a good writeup of so that I don't have to; by far my favorite of the three shows I've now seen in person.)

I'm heading into a lonely few days as [livejournal.com profile] heisenbug goes to visit the Zillian mothership for the workweek. I'm trying to remember the small things I can do to take advantage of his absence, like playing music in the mornings (when it would usually wake him up).

My attempts to read my backlog of "to read" books hit a snag in the form of Puzzles for Programmers and Pros (and another by the same guy). It's good, and it's already improving my skills at probability/betting puzzles a bit, but it's not the kind of book you just carry around and read. I had to remove it from the queue. One more thin book, some old notes of my own and I'll be DONE with that project! Woo! Soon I'll be on to the delicious shelf of fiction my friends have given/lent to me while I was doggedly reading through the queue.

Oh, I wouldn't call that an unproductive weekend... all good-for-the-soul kinds of activities!

Oh! You went to see Ovo, too. I hope it wasn't Friday night or I'll feel bad for not seeing you there.
