The wrist. And my face. And the wrist. And acro.

What I didn't tell you is that I fell, in a bad way, on my hurt wrist on Sunday, sending it back to Inflammation Square One after almost two weeks. Right when I was starting to think it really was going to get better... after the doctor said it just needed ice and ibuprofen and I'd be fine. Why, oh why, did I put my hand out when I was falling backwards? Why did I not just roll? Cue the regret soundtrack.

Then last night I was spotting an acro move, and took an elbow hard to the upper lip, and I felt the concussion clear through to the other side of my head. Ouch. Headache and a swollen/cut lip for me today -- and I don't even care, because it's so totally obvious that stuff will heal, but it does contribute to an overall feeling of being beaten up.

Now the first 72 post-injury hours have again gone by. Again it's just starting to feel better. I had advanced acro tonight, and I was able to fly some low hand-to-hand without angering it as long as the base kept a steep grip. I also did some good shoulder-to-shoulder work, and some good high back-flying stuff, and felt happy and strong and hopeful in my body for the first time since Sunday. People are sad that I dropped out of the 5-day acro training that started today, but it was so obviously the right call... this little guy needs to rest from the things that bother it, and heal.

Yikes! Hope you heal quickly!

Yikes! Feel better soon. That's a lot of injuries for one season.

Ooch. Yeah, you need to rest and heal the wrist and do some other stuff for a bit. Not fun, but neither are lingering injuries. :-(

OHNOES!

Thinking healing thoughts in your direction!!
This re-injuring/getting-set-back-to-square-one thing seems to be catching. :( Let's hope July is the month of turning tides and strengthening bodies!!

no fair! sorry to hear about all this. did you ever do falling-backward drills where you practice going into a candlestick/shoulderstand, with arms up overhead? the tumbling coach at lava does that in every class and i woul dlike to think the muscle memory would kick in for me if necessary.
the elbow to your upper lip sounds awful!
