Minor mystery

Also: the skin on all my fingertips is peeling, all at once. A belated response to scuffing up my hands when I went bouldering 3+ weeks ago? Sudden-onset leprosy?

Bodies are really weird.

this happens to me every so often. i think it's just a form of eczema? it happens maybe 3–4 times a year, then goes away. it does sometimes seem to be triggered by general hand-scuffing, but not usually 3 weeks later! who knows.

once upon a time when i was climbing regularly i noticed my gripping skin getting hard and scaly and peely a few weeks after I quit regularly climbing. I figured my skin had adapted to the regular abrasion and had been growing at an excessive rate which was now no longer needed.
