flexagon | Me, myself and eye

So I went to the optometrist's last night for an examination & new contacts... the office had split and the single remaining doctor at the original place is really trying hard to keep people's business with him, so he gave me last year's prices plus a free pair of green sample contacts (whee, fun! I can wear them to Y's wedding with my green bridesmaid's dress). I sensed some sadness when he talked about the office splitting up, so I am glad enough to have gone the lazy route and ordered contacts straight from him instead of looking for a deal elsewhere. Oh yes, and I heroically restrained myself--again--from ordering anything from Wild Eyes. Still considering the icefire ones though... how great would that be, this Halloween, with a clown outfit. Mmmm. :)

I definitely had fun yesterday beginning to get back into Java. Today I look at the older project I'm basing this on, and see just how much of its code I can reuse. Probably most of it, if I do things right. Scary to start with the major surgery when I don't really remember how to use the language... ah well, the sooner I get into it the sooner I'll figure it out again. It's nice to be the only one on the project, especially with this initial slowness. (Teamwork? Pah. We don't need none of that.)

I am sooooo jonesing for a pair of cat eyes...but they'd be ridiculously expensive since I'd have to pay for the fitting exam as well as the contacts. I probably should have an eye checkup at some point...hmm...

Oh, definitely want a pair of the blacks. Or maybe red. I guess I should figure out what I am going to be this halloween first though.
