Sure, be in our study... not.

Yup. As I suspected, I'm not qualified for that female sterilization study I called on Friday. To qualify, I'd have had to have had an actual pregnancy (to prove fertility), and be in a monogamous relationship with a man who also had proven his fertility by causing a pregnancy (not necessarily mine). Egg donors--out! Polyamorous people--out! Oh well, so back to the "one more donation and then get Essure" plan.

I wonder why the monogamy?

It seems like it shouldn't matter...unless it's that they test the fertility of your partner too, and if you're not monogamous they don't want to introduce other variables.

I don't get what is wrong with sleeping with others either. But I would hope they have some minimums set up for the couples they do accept ... "we'll need you to have sex at least twice a week, three times when you are most fertile." ;-)
