Well THAT was dangerous and sudden

This morning I was riding the escalator up from Kendall when the older gentleman in front of (and above) me started to fall backward. Instinctively I put my hands up to spot him. He continued to pour his weight into my hands, and I think I might have actually stopped his fall at that point, but something happened -- I think he buckled at the hips -- and he fell hard onto me, from above. He was heavier than me and I couldn't hold. :-( So we both went backward down the escalator, and I hit my head and got pinned under him, but he didn't hit HIS head, and his fall had been slowed.

The MBTA station operator stopped the escalator pretty quickly -- well before we got to the top. Together he and the guy behind me got the older man to his feet, and determined that the drop of blood on the side of the escalator was from a scrape on his hand. He said he didn't need medical care, "thanks to this young lady", and I shrugged, and we all sort of nodded at each other and said "that could have been worse" and went on our way.

TL;DR: No sign of this week's intensity letting up. Deep breath.

(Important note: I'm fine. The head-bonk was minor. I have a shallow scrape on the side of one leg.)
