Had a cold all week, but on the upswing
Monday: slept 12 hours and lay on the couch, noping out of work (the one meeting I did dial into was incomprehensible) and playing the entirety of Monument Valley 2. Which, yes, is out on Android as of Monday and completely worth the five dollars.
Tuesday: attended all-day manager training stuff. Got some good reminders regarding some decision-making styles I rarely use, and the value of repeating my vision(s) for the team(s) all the time. Acted on none of it. Went out to dinner with visiting engineers, then had a short date with Norwood in which talks were had, and I got less panicky about him maintaining some space for me in his life.
Wednesday: Did some repetitive boring stuff that I was on a rotation for last week, which consists of approving people's requests to launch things; threw in a "good luck, So-and-so!" with the approval when I recognized a friendly name on one project, and apparently freaked out one of So-and-so's reports who a) took it as sarcastic and b) was all "she must be really important, to treat So-and-so like that." Hah! There is truly no limit to the ways in which a person's actions can be interpreted.
Thursday: so many meetings with visiting engineers, so sleepy. Then a foodie dinner with people we didn't know well, involving a whole suckling pig and kind of a lot of money. I don't think I'm destined to become a foodie anytime soon -- it was pleasant and I liked the host a lot, but the novelty of the food didn't really seem worth the risk of zits. Overall, I'd rather just eat things that are healthy and/or tasty and be done with it.
Friday: handstands, my first workout since Saturday. My poor body has forgotten how to stretch, although not how to balance (for the most part) and it could have been worse. Then it was the last day for one of my reports, who's transferring away, and I went through some administrivia with them; and then dinner and seeing The Security Project with
heisenbug. They're basically a Peter Gabriel cover band, and their (female!) singer has an awesome low voice that made me wish they'd cover some October Project too.
Today: house stuff, particularly putting new light bulbs in the basement and doing some cleaning down there. It was pretty satisfying -- super nasty, but it takes years for a basement floor to collect that much crud (and cobweb) which means that a good cleaning will have effects that last for years, too. After that, my usual condo chores all seemed pretty civilized.
There's a party tonight, but just walking there sounds exhausting, so I'm not going to make it.

We need another lavender biscuit date. But yes. I love interesting food. I like exploring new tastes. But I identify as a person who loves food rather than a foodie. In part because many of the foodie experiences have no appeal, in part because I'm picky about things like not wanting to eat organ meats.
