Other stuff from this week
1) My STI tests came back from the doctor. There is a space for "Notes from the Doctor's Office", and my incredible RN wrote in that space:
Good job!
Much negative!
Wow!
...which is pretty much why I love her, and love the office I go to.
2) On Wednesday I went to a different doctor, to get the bump on my hand looked at. It was ultrasounded and determined to be just fluid, as I'd figured: a ganglion cyst. The doctor drained a ton of fluid out of it with a big needle in three minutes, like SLURP. Gone like magic. I guess I have a flat sac of flesh in there now, and it might fill back up, but it is nice to not have a bump right now. (If it comes back I'll get surgery to remove the whole thing.)
3) Being a manager is dicey sometimes, because sometimes people cry a lot and sometimes they have (had?) expectations that you had no idea they had. Or both! So I spent hours and hours on a thing (hello, 14-hr workday Thursday, looking at you) and I'll probably lose a team member through no fault of my own. Hissssssssssss. On the plus side, I got my compensation letter early in the week and all numbers are up from last year.
4) It's been a very social/seasonal weekend so far, and tonight's going to be social too. I'm not complaining -- we have a Christmas tree now! -- but my chores aren't done and I'm happy to be getting some alone time now.

Not so yay for most of #3. (I was out a bunch of days and missed my usual 1:1 slot, so I don't have my comp letter yet. I'm cautiously optimistic.)

I had a cyst like that on my coccyx once. It was UNPLEASANT. Eventually it broke and drained on its own. I wonder if I should get this other one poked (it's in an innocuous location and I mostly don't even remember it except sometimes people see me naked and go "what's THAT?" to which my standard answer is "my alien tracking device and transmitter". I might be a weirdo.)
Ugh on the managerial eit thing. Sympathies.
