apfelsingail's house, ate some eggs and headed off to do a nude photo shoot and get artsy, athletic pictures taken. It's been a long time since I've done a shoot (four years?), so I splashed out for professional hair/makeup... the twisty braid we did might be mildly annoying in some of the shots, but it worked well overall and I was massively impressed with the makeup. Not only did I look super polished, but it stayed on ALL DAY. And we got some good shots, I think! The camera always says I'm more buff than I think of myself as being. And unlike four years ago or whenever that was, I can hold a handstand. :)
I have learned many things this year so far. In particular:
After photos there were empanadas, coffee, cheap professional foot massages, a trip to Sephora (I bought the lip stuff the makeup artist put on me, and looked for plum liner) and the Container Store, burgers. We seem to be settling in for a quiet evening, which is A-OK with me, and no doubt more than okay with my very gracious hostess. We are getting some great hangouts in.

- After doing top-lash mascara from the top and bottom like a normal person, you can poke the brush vertically up at the lashes to semi-curl them and then you can... move said lashes toward the outside corner of the eye, to get a cat-eye effect even without naturally having good lashes at the outer corners. This is crazy magic.
- Furthermore, a plum eyeliner can be used for tightlining without actually looking purple. It just looks brown in such a way that my blue eyes look bluer.
- Hazelnut vinaigrette is a thing. A delicious thing that I should find and buy.
