Breast biopsy today

...was successful! I stuck my boob through a hole in a table, they slurped out the possibly-worrying calcifications with a biopsy needle from underneath the table, and they left a small titanium marker behind for the sake of future mammograms. I'll get results late next week, but in the meantime: I don't have to make a go/no-go decision on surgery without data. So that's great.

(I'm in the middle of reading The Calculating Stars, which [personal profile] apfelsingail lent to me and which just won the 2019 Nebula for best novel, and hearing the all-female biopsy team competently reading out coordinates to each other somehow seemed exactly like the pilots in the book. Oddly comforting.)
