And here I am stuck at my desk. Damn it, you balmy May weather, I blame you for this state of affairs. And I wonder what the "horny" kitten icon in my mood palette looks like... it's funny to think of a horny kitten. ;)

As nothing is going on in my life that would probably interest you, here is a simple question: what are a few of your favorite movies? I should watch more movies. And I know HLM would like it if I did, too... I told him I'd watch Kill Bill with him, if only to shut eveyone up about how I should see it, but we haven't gotten around to it. So--what are your favorites? Some of mine:

Honorable mention to The Station Agent for being my favorite indie movie, and still the best I've seen in '04.

The Matrix, Labyrinth, The Muppet Movie, The Dark Crystal (I have a Jim Henson thing, can you tell?), Persuasion, Fight Club, Princess Mononoke, Grosse Point Blank, The Last Unicorn. All I can think of right now anyway.

Interesting, I didn't think anyone remembered "The Last Unicorn." I bought it on DVD like two weekends ago. Such an obscure cartoon, yet a classic.

*peers* you haven't seen Monsters, Inc.? A classic movie imho. Hell, it was a classic the day it came out in the theaters that's how well it was done imho. So creative, so playful.

No, I did see it, and didn't like it (YES, I'm the only person on earth who didn't, I know). It depended awfully heavily on the viewer really liking the little girl, and it was just too sicky-sweet for me.

HLM always reminds me that I was tired and cranky when I saw it, and this is true, but I think I still might not have liked it.

Ok. The little girl was sickening sweet, but to me that represented the untained mind of a child. Innocence at it's purest.

Wow, I didn't know they made Neverwhere into a miniseries! I've read the book, of course. Big Gaiman fan here.

I like all your classics except The Last Unicorn, which I haven't seen. My husband (also MIT) made me watch Real Genius... without him I would never have heard of it. Same with Office Space--so many great lines in that movie. I wish I had them memorized. Anyway, thanks :)
