(no subject)

Today, waking up with the heat on, is the first time this year I understood completely that it's on its way to getting really cold, and it will snow in the not-so-far future. Time to start thinking about a new coat, and buy the rugrats candy for Halloween.

HLM wrote a screensaver in the last couple of days that's probably cooler than my latest idea. I'm both proud and jealous.

I can hamstring curl twice as much as I could a month ago (before that I couldn't do that exercise at all, because it hurt in a weird way behind my knees).

I can think of about five things I should have done yesterday, but didn't.

Life is, in short, its usual mishmash. I'm wearing my knee-high boots to work though. That's fun. :)

With the weather the way it is, it wouldn't surprise me if it was snowing by thanksgiving. So, does [info]flexagon & HLM ever show off their screensavers or do we just keep guessing at what they are? I didn't know that HLM could even program. I just figured he was a music geek.

Sigh, sorry for the typos. :P

Er...let me butt in here...

Can HLM program?!!! Ha, I guess Flexy hasn't really mentioned this, but HLM is working on his own language...he's gotten it to the point of compiling things I think, but Flexy would know better. In short, yes, HLM can program. And he's a music geek, and he can build/carve pretty things out of wood. Very well-rounded gentleman.

Yeah, I don't really know anything about HLM other than what brief stuff flexy has mentioned. Sorry.

Oh, no apology necessary, sorry if that sounded like jumping...I just found it funny because I think of HLM as a fairly hardcore programmer.

No, I realize you're not jumping. So, how does one go about inventing their own language? Is that assembly or ...?

It's not using assembly, but beyond that I don't remember the specifics. It's so far beyond my capabilities, the specifics don't stick very long when we discuss it.

Yup, just curious. I'm guessing that it has to be some machine language since we're talking down to the bytecode here. I just threw out assembly because that's the only one I'm aware of.

Just hope that HLM doesn't give it one of those weird names like "Ruby" or "Java" and comes up with something cooler. ;)

Interesting, never heard of bootstrapping til now. Thanks.

Me too. Bah!

Enjoy the knee-high boots, I'm there with you in spirit. :)

I don't care how good HLM's screensaver turns out, it can't beat the year and a half run that Geartrain has enjoyed on my system. By far the longest running screensaver I have ever had.
