Avoirdupois

flexagonI woke up dreaming about the word avoirdupois (in my dream I was trying to remember what it meant). Typing it into dictionary.com a minute ago I had myself half convinced that I just dreamed it and it wasn't a word. But it is! I wonder when I learned it and why my subconscious dug it up last night.
