Much as I would love to keep denying it, I'm definitely allergic to something around here. My nose went crazy 2 days ago and won't stop running. :(

I suspect tree pollen since that's the only pollen weather.com will admit is present in the area today.

Does anyone have tips on how to deal with an allergy? I read my ads like a good American consumer, so I know I should go buy some Benadryl or (ahhhhhhh) Allegra, and I will. But I wonder if I should try to get allergy shots, if that's a longer-term solution to the problem.

It may or may not be an urban myth, but using local honey is supposed to help build your tolerance. *shrug* Not to mention, it's quite tasty. :-)

I don't know if it makes you feel better, but I thought the same thing last year, and this year, nothing, so it's perhaps not permanent.

Tavist-D has always been my fav. 12 hour pills, and it really lasts that long. And it doesn't take weeks to build up like some do.

Claritin has worked well for me as well.

Unfortunately, I pretty much sneeze a lot all summer. Until this year I've insisted to all and sundry that I have no allergies and I just sneeze a lot, but that line is getting old. :)

Thanks for the advice. This morning I took a CVS-brand Claritin knockoff and I didn't sneeze again all day, so that's pretty good. :)
