Laptops, waxing, and weirdness at 2:30

flexagonI'm updating from my laptop to see if this newly installed client works--yes, yay, my laptop is back in commission after lots of OS and basic software reinstalls, and then lots of file transferring. I don't think I lost anything important.
Last night we went out to Harvard Square and decided to do our part to save Pandemonium from ruin by buying new books there. I was feeling semi-bad about spending the money (being still way too low on cash, and the laptop repairs didn't help that situation one bit), but then for the second time that night we walked by this homeless guy who has a cat and a dog. I'd seen them before and done nothing, but suddenly I just couldn't stand it, so I dragged HLM into the CVS and found some cat and dog food for them... and that money I didn't feel bad about at all.
Today? Even more spending--I went and got my legs waxed. Waxing is disquieting, if only because when I feel that much pain, I expect to look down and see BLOOD! And it did hurt. But this lady did a good job of smoothing each piece down before yanking, and I sure am a lot less hairy now.
Almost forgot--last night around 2:30 I had the very eerie experience of waking up to the sound of my name being hollered in a hoarse, The Shining-type voice from somewhere outside the house. "FetuuuuUUUUUS...!" Looking back, the one person who came to mind would have been one of the least likely to be doing it... but anyway... I was half-asleep and not sure I didn't dream it until it kept happening. I was like shit, they're calling me out. But then HLM pointed out that the girl in the apt above us has the same first name as me, and sure enough, we heard movement up there and... who knows? I went out on the porch in my bathrobe and looked around, but I didn't see anything. Went back to bed but it took me quite a while to fall asleep again. That couple is really weird.
