Oops. Windows was giving me shit so I restarted my computer without regard to the half-written post I'd written. I think I was saying I'd shaken the anxiety thing for now, and maybe even gotten past the worst bits of my current programming sidetrack... which involves fixing up a Java application that generates C++ code. That would have been cool and meta and twisty if only I hadn't been expecting to not have to fix it up at all. But still... could it be, could it be that the first thing on Monday's to-do list only takes until sometime Thursday? That'd be doing better than last week. Sometimes it helps to look around and get a bit of perspective.
I've been meaning to say something clever about the net of people-connections I find myself in, and how sometimes I'm a happy little web-creature sending signals down the wires, occasionally I'm lonely, and sometimes I feel tugged in all directions when I really want stillness. But I'm not really drawing any conclusions. I guess I just have to keep a watch on things for a while longer.
Speaking of social connections, I talked with pooh girl today and we set up a date for next week. She's the one who was planning to push hard in TKD, test for blue stripe tonight and then take two months off. Instead the teacher pushed her to tears in class 2 days ago and then told her she isn't testing, but she is taking the 2 months off. I dunno what it is with our school, it just eats green belt girls alive. I head back there on Friday with some definite trepidation.
Tonight is not for socialness. Tonight is for cooking beer-battered chicken and cranberry bran muffins at home with the love monkey.
