Okay, the evening was much better than the day. [livejournal.com profile] rumgirl came over, which was nice. I got to see one of her abstract paintings, which had such good balance and composition I can still pretty much see it in my head. Then she took one look at my kitty drawing and said "Oh, the umbrella is great... and the cat, well the cat's obviously not finished, but...". Sigh. The most annoying thing is, she was right. We discussed pencil vs. charcoal and paint and color for a while longer, and then after she left I went back to the cat. Maybe now it's done. I'm certainly nearing my giving-up point anyway. (A, in the meantime, has spent the last 40 minutes putting together a great dodecahedron out of paper. He's been really into polyhedra lately. Oh yes, we know how to party in this household). I do hope that at some point, maybe with rumgirl to inspire me, I'll take the plunge and try something abstract sometime. Or maybe I'll spare myself the pain, and just commission her for a mural in our new condo sometime next year. :)

I have a metric buttload to do tomorrow, so I'm gonna be good, stretch, and go to bed now. Got my wedding dress in the mail today, btw... I opened it and looked at it just enough to make sure they sent the right thing, which they did. No point trying it on, as I know quite well it will fall off me until it's altered.

... then the connection failed. Have to figure out how to backdate entries for real, I guess. Anyway, okay, I'm going to block out the fact that I'm in a windowless office on a gorgeous day and get to work now.

Here, by the way, are some people who need to chill. I'm not sure how one can get so offended on behalf of a body part one is paying to have removed. Maybe I'm being insensitive again... I do that sometimes...

My, how time does fly when you're not having fun. It feels like about 4:30 in the afternoon to me right now, except for my tiredness level, I'm so fried. Part of my hectic day was spent putting a couple of items on eBay (one of them a wedding gown I got for $30 from that very same source). That went fine... then I was thinking about an old SNES I have that I want to get rid of, either to charity or eBay. So I looked up "SNES". I found a system just like mine, auction closing in 4 minutes and change, that was selling for $3. I remembered the $150 I paid for it when I was a teenager and thought, yes... charity it is. I am actually not sure why video games depreciate the way they do. I'm still a big fan of some of the old ones. Super Mario Bros 3, anyone?

Okay, I have to go lift now... I will not skip lifting... That's not how the game is played.
