A very small-scale business plan

Last night I got four packages in the mail, which is a little extreme even by my recent standards of ordering-stuff-all-the-time. Two of those packages were raw material for my quest to own a decent Pente set without paying the ridiculous prices the old version (which came in a tube and is now out of print) is bidding up to on ebay. So now I have 3 sets of little glass stones and..... a soft, irregular, 11-square-foot piece of white leather. Oh my. I spent some time last night trying to figure out how big to make the board; still debating between 1.75 cm squares and 2 cm squares. The good news is that either way, I have enough leather to make not one but four boards... which odds are pretty good I could sell for more than the original price of the leather. I'll try to sell the scraps too, since they'll still be big enough for wallets and fringes and whatever crafty people usually do with leather, and I hate to see it wasted.

I've been thinking lately about business ideas. I've never really had a good one but sometime in the last year I realized that people do have them every time they say "Geez, I wish they sold..." or "you know, I'd totally pay someone to... " So, I've been trying to not ignore it when I have small ideas. Maybe if I have small ones and learn how to keep an eye out for things people want, someday I'll get a big one. 'Course, it's not so bad to sit here sucking down a salary. I'm in no hurry.

Got my stitches out

I no longer look like I have a large spider sitting on my arm! Also, the doctor's assistant said my scar had not stretched out. Ha. My obsessive weightlifting behavior has been vindicated.

Okay, four hours to get work done.
