So last night I went home, got groceries, did dishes, roasted a chicken, made garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli and gravy to go with it, cut out and drew the grid for a single Pente board (which took quite a while but of course it'll get faster), and fixed a couple of tiny things that had been bugging me about my website. It was quick; no images involved, just text. Then I read a couple pages of The Snarkout Boys and the Baconburg Horror by Daniel Pinkwater and collapsed. (Between me being up late and A being sick, we actually went to bed at the same time for once, which is nice.) I brought the Pente board & stones to work... I hope T will play with me.

For the record, my lack of mentioning current world events is a purposeful boycott. I still think what I thought when I posted on Feb 7, and since nothing's changed, there's nothing to say.

So I played Pente with T in the kitchen over lunch. The table was full of other people eating lunch and there was much astonished talk of "you're playing a game?" and "whoa... are they really going to play a game?" Yes, you poor timorous newbies on the field of life, this is how confident employees act at a decent company, and we're going to act that way here just for the hell of it. T's manager, one of the cool ones, was sitting and watching the game with interest so I don't think we have too too much to worry about, but we admit the possibility of a "no games at work" email coming down from the top now. We have agreed to laugh at this if it occurs.

And oh yeah, I won, even after letting him take back a losing move midway through the game. *smirk*
