Last night's party was a sweet deal. Hear Me Out! played like a dream for the second time, offering all of us the chance to look like complete doofuses at least once (I mean really... all of us blanking out on the topic "the 90s"?). And I am told the childhood traumas and paranoid snippiness visited on the group by a couple of us were amusing. And now I have a nice big piece of cakey goodness to see me through today's round of the afternoon sleepies. :)

We did somehow end up with 10 beers in our fridge, which is bad for nobeeretarians. Everyone present last night is invited to my bday dinner... 7:00, same date & place as last year... so maybe we'll just give it back then, if we remember!

Anyway, I feel great this morning and it's time to hunt this stupid bug into the fucking ground. Everyone stand back please, she's got a C++ compiler and she looks ready to use it.

Well, this has been nice--there's actually something relaxing about having a long day at work, in which nobody bothers you and you know you can probably stay until you're done. Of course I wouldn't be as happy if I weren't happily doing an end run around my bug. It pays to remember that sometimes the thing you assumed would be way harder just because it's more sweeping, isn't.

While reading my phone manual, I also discovered a really nasty practical joke just waiting to be played. Our phones here have this feature called "follow me"... you go to someone else's office, and tell your own extension to ring there, and it will. Needless to say, there's no security and everyone knows all the extensions. I really don't know what I want to do more, swap the lines of two of my friends or simply find an empty cube and route the CEO's line there. :)
