Much better, except for the starving part
Oct. 12th, 2003 06:21 pmWhat a day. After that last post I had the worst brush with hunger I've had in a while, all because I misjudged the time it would take me to work out, and whether I should bring food, and then I had to wait 45 minutes for the bus coming home (don't ask). Some people just feel kind of hungry when they feel hungry, but that's not me, especially if I'm hungry because I've been working out... no, I'm the one who gets shaky and sick and scared and cranky, and can feel the internal warfare start up as parts of my body start munching on other parts, and it's really incredibly Not Good. Luckily, HLM is very good about dealing with me in a starving state. If I come in and give him the tiniest half-hug and head for the Gatorade in the fridge stammering about getting too hungry, he just looks all concerned and digs out the leftover devilled eggs for me and rubs my neck. What a nice husband. Anyway, I ate the eggs and had some Gatorade and some sunflower seeds and a plate of chicken parmesan with whole wheat pasta before I was quite certain life would go on.
Lesson learned: go back to carrying emergency food, especially if lifting at unfamiliar times of day. :b
After that, we successfully bought a mattress. ( Mattress resolution )
Did some slacking off after that, ( TMI? ) The rest of the evening is for artsy stuff. I'm doing the final, well, final before sending off to Asimov's, anyway, edits of my short story. It's hard for me to read the notes from its last workshopping... there are some good (useful) comments, but so many more where the story just wasn't carefully read. Sigh. Ignore, respond to the good ones, and send, I say. Get it over with.
