Victor Hugo's closing has gotten even sadder for me, )the apartment tragicomedy continues, )and I got hurt, which is never fun. )At least this makes it extra-nice that my dad seems okay, )and there are still some truths to be found in the world. )

And now... I have cleared off my desk and HLM is gone to orchestra practice. Hmm... set up the sewing machine? Draw comics? Play piano? Actually do some yoga instead of just reading about it? Hmm, decisions. I love Sunday nights. :)

From last month's issue of Yoga Journal:

A plateau is not necessarily an uninteresting place to be. Unpopulated by obvious goals, it can help us create a state of mind in which we gain experience and tools for internalizing a state of harmony. It can bring qualities of clarity, immediacy, concentration and peace to our practice.

I don't mean to reignite the debate on whether or not it's good to have fitness goals in general, but I am interested in other people's experiences with plateaus, whatever those might be... emotions inspired by? breaking out of? giving up because of? residing peacefully in?

Speaking of not plateauing, I forgot to mention in the last post that (largely because I knew I wasn't going to squat), I pushed my adductors today and did the stack on the adductor machine. A new personal record, and a hundred and ninety pounds of cold steel, baby! I was pleased. My legs have demanded quite a bit of patience from me with regards to strength training, so it's nice to see the occasional response from the little twigs. ;)
