Funny, I went there to support other people, not to be an attention-grabber. But an awful lot of people took pictures of my sign and/or wormed through the crowd to tell me how much they liked it, and I know it's in the background (like, near background) of some MTV footage since I was directly behind some people getting interviewed. Ha, I will be happy if it appears anywhere in the news. There were thousands of people mobbing city hall, but not so many signs. (One of the other memorable ones--Still single--catch me while you can! was being carried by someone I knew. Very very funny.)

YAY!, said my sign. I have screamed Yay! many times tonight. The sign is still there--I passed it on to my friend DS when we left at 1:00 to catch the last train home, with instructions for him to pass it on too if he left before the end. Probably nothing more exciting will happen tonight... the people on the other side packed up and went home a little after midnight. Nobody's left now but celebrators and the people getting marriage licenses, and of course the riot police who were holding open an aisle for them to walk down.

What a night. Looking up at my YAY sign while the bubbles streamed past it and people cheered... yes, a very good moment. I'm glad I went.

Btw, today is an official non-career day... I left the book at home and won't be responding to comments on that post either. I will respond to all of them next time I sit down for some thinkin', which will be soon, and if you've turned on the option that lets you get comments by email, you'll get my responses. :)

So, guess what? On top of all the issue-type stuff I've been typing about, I had a normal weekend too--painting, squats, coffee table, stuff like that. ) Yeah, it was a pretty full couple of days.
