Calico, can you come tell me the news
Jun. 10th, 2004 11:04 amDid I really talk about peace last time? Well, nice to know that concept hasn't fled completely from my life. I might have been fooled otherwise.
My birthday was good--I was sick, but it was still great to go out with friends, and people chipped in to get me the spa gift certificate I was dying for. Oh, and HLM is getting us tickets to see The Lion King (the musical) when it comes through Boston in July. I guess it's a year for experiences, rather than stuff. I can live with that. :)
( Where the job thing stands now )
HLM and I are doing much better, after about a week and a half of things not feeling very good at all (and I didn't even mention it, you'll notice, because I've been obsessed with other things--doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it was at least half my fault). So that's good. He finds out today whether he got a role in a local production of Arcadia, which would be awesome because that's my favorite play in the whole wide world. ( side note ) We had a talk last night about making the relationship a priority this summer even if we're both busy... I think we've gotten out of practice somehow.
My cold also feels much improved today... which means danger. It may feel good, but this is exactly the part where if I stop taking antihistamines my throat will get froggy, and where if I forget my immune system is still weakened I could wind up more sick. Uh-uh, I am not fooled. I'm staying warm and not doing anything. Yesterday I was so messed up and not regulating temperature that I was able to sit out in the noon sun in warm clothing on a hot, muggy day for about 10 minutes and not sweat. 11.5 hours in bed last night did a lot of good, but you can't tell me I'm back to full-on normal already.
