Out of the 5 or so posts I'm dying to make, this is the shortest: does anyone else have a correlation between when they sweat and what time of day it is? For a while, at work, I was noticing I'd get armpit circles at around 4 PM and I was blaming it on my afternoon coffee. Then I went to decaf (or skipped entirely) and it still happened. Disclaimer ) Finally, last weekend I was wearing a tank top, so there was no fabric to bother the area at all. But as I was strolling around in the afternoon I suddenly noticed I had some sweat... and there it was, 3:50.

Am I the only one?

Monday: our anniversary. It involved a long dinner at Legal's (amazing how there's always room for a profiterole), and then we came home to exchange presents. The first year is paper, so my gift to him was that book you cut into pieces and make a clock out of and his to me was half a dozen origami roses (he taught me how to make one--really tough!) and a gift certificate to the Paper Source. So sweet and inventive and creative he is! Snugglies!!! :) And next year is cotton.... hmmm.

Tuesday: AJ and RC came over, and RC had a shiny diamond on her finger... and is thus feeling all those things you feel when you're engaged (mostly very happy). It was good to see that, even though it only means I have one more year of her friendship before sprogging takes over her life. Oh well... she wants it all so badly I know it'll make her happy.

Wednesday: utterly huge day. The morning is about to get its own monster post so I'll skip it for now... and then I worked for 5.5 hours and went straight to my Dale Carnegie graduation class. That was pretty emotionally draining as always. My last chance to use the stopwatch, and lots of people cried as they talked about what the class had done for them. Quite touching. I ended up telling the class what a difference it made to me that they saw me as someone who actually had something to give... and then I was almost crying too. Damn that cheeseball class. It's true though. HLM came with me as my guest... everyone brings guests... so he got to see me in full cheesy swing. Then the obligatory drink/food with the teacher, and I finally came home stumbling from exhaustion.

Today: sick joke that it is, I worked extra-long hours to partially make up for the short day yesterday! Ahahaha. Ha. Ha. I was kinda burned out, truth be told. Then I went to advanced TKD and re-hurt my foot, but not too badly. I was almost grateful for the chance to sit out the last half of the class.

Every day: sooo much bathroom progress. It's great fun, returning every day to see what the contractors have done while I was gone--like getting a present every night, albeit a messy dusty one. The short version is, we have walls and a ceiling again, and as of today a new window with frosted glass. We also got our ceramic tiles today, finally. Beautimous. Soon some of them will be on the walls. :)

So... yesterday I talked a doctor into sterilizing me. On my first try, no less!

He did make me debate for my life, mostly to be sure I was serious and another option would not give me what I was looking for. All about the conversation... )

When he asked me about my period, I told him I was bleeding merrily away as we spoke. Not in those words, it's true. Well, said the doctor, it's best to do it a week after a period, so that would be next week, or else a month from then. Next week, I chirped with eyes wide open, I could get a day off next week! So I took out my tampon, and put on a flimsy gown, and waited in one of those little exam rooms. As I sprawled there willing my heart rate to go down so my blood pressure wouldn't be through the roof, Tears for Fears came on the radio.

Welcome to your life... there's no turning back... My incredulous laughter drowned out the next line, and then we will find you acting on your best behavior, turn your back on Mother Nature...

Goddamn. Do they do that to everyone? Do they do it on purpose? Nah, I'm sure it was coincidence, but it sure was appropriate. :)

The exam was anticlimactic--they lubed up some gloves, poked and prodded enough to be sure I had both ovaries and wasn't about to fall over dead, and said they'd most likely want me back in for the procedure next Thursday. Maybe Wednesday. They'll call. And... yes, my glorious expensive insurance will indeed pay for it.

W000000000t! I feel pressure lifting from my mind already. I never did admit to the doctor that I've been missing more and more pills and it's starting to scare me.
