This is definitely an interesting article.

I don't know what to say about this weekend except that a) it was okay and b) I wish HLM would get better. The poor thing was really good last night about trying not to wake me up with his coughing, but I think that just meant he wasn't in bed much until 6 AM. And oddly, he doesn't want to call the doctor because he "keeps feeling like he's getting better." Whiskey tango foxtrot? He's not better, and he's usually the hypochondriac of the two of us! I think maybe this is some insidious disease that attacks the very centers of the brain that would normally worry about disease.

And for one more link, there's a cool poll on the CF board about birth order and being childfree. *blinkblink* The results do make sense, but I'd never heard of this correlation before.

Today I got to leave work early and see my bug play chamber music (which is played without a conductor) as part of a string quartet. I thoroughly enjoy watching him play with small groups where his cello can actually be heard... and it always makes me wish there was a big glowing sign over my head saying "I'm married to the cellist and I love it!" Anyway, it was a long, difficult piece, and partway through the 3rd movement they actually got so far apart they had to stop playing and start again. They were prepared enough for that to know where to start again, but not prepared enough to be totally smooth... they sort of made little disgusted noises that made it obvious something had gone wrong. HLM alone stayed really calm, and got them started again. On the way home he was talking about how he thinks that's a really important part of a musician's education: messing up in front of an audience and going on. He's done it before, of course--not to say that tonight didn't matter, but he wasn't upset. Goddamn, he is one brave and experienced and utterly impressive guy.

I forgot my workout stuff at work today (doh!) so I made up for it somewhat by scheduling a massage and signing up for an evaluation session at a Dahn yoga place. How holistic of me. I have every confidence that the Dahn people will conclude I would benefit from signing up with them and paying them money... which is not to say they aren't right. But they might not be as serious a physical practice as I'm looking for either. We'll see.
