Jan. 3rd, 2005 11:00 amEveryone else has posted about the NYE party, so I'll just say thanks for having us over,
hiddenbear. I didn't hold my alcohol as well as I usually have been lately, so I was a bit snippy and worried, but it was still a good party and I discovered some new music I like, which is always exciting. Don't even think I'm going to let you forget about burning that CD for me, blue. :)
For the most part, I spent yesterday working on my latest screensaver. I reeeeeally want to post it on this weekend's update of my real website. All I really had left to do was wire up the configuration dialog box, but since that's where most of the Windows-specific code is, ugh. I would never have figured out how to do the damn combo boxes if HLM hadn't come charging in on his white horse and showed me a working sample from one of his latest projects.
Speaking of software and computers, I've been rereading Soul of a New Machine, which I haven't read since I was 17. It's no surprise that I'm getting more out of it now that I've been doing software for 5 years. The story makes more sense to me, but at the same time I have a lot less admiration for the crazy hours they all worked now that I've been there, done that, and ultimately found it not worthwhile.
