Ever since I pushed myself to the point of squatting body weight (125) last summer, I've been noodling arond 5 to 10 pounds below that--either being lazy or building up a comfortable base at that level, depending on your lifting philosophy. A few weeks ago I touched that number again and went back down again. Well, it turns out body weight ain't nothin' but a number... today I was feeling really strong, to the point of being bored with my first three sets, so I pushed up to body weight for the heaviest one and then straight through it for an completely gratuitous extra set at 135. Wow...! I never had the nerve to even dream of a goal beyond body weight. I thought skinny chicks just didn't do that, especially ones with wimpy legs like mine. But apparently it can be done, especially if you get a venti mocha beforehand instead of the usual tall.

I've been glowing for about an hour and a half now. :)

Edit: I should mention that this comes as quite a surprise, after being locked out of upper-body work with a hurt elbow and being out-yogaed all week by the amazing people at O2. It's weird how the breakthroughs only come when you don't expect them.
