You can't outsmart the Frog
Feb. 21st, 2005 04:31 pmI thought I was being so very clever, working today. I get points for caring so deeply about my project that I'd come in on a holiday, and in the meantime I get a nice quiet workday with nobody bothering me. Then next week I take an extra day off while everyone's in here making noise, and all is well. Right? Wrong, dipshit, today will be the day the last heater in the office dies and there is a high-priority bug from our biggest customer.
I found the problem and it doesn't seem to really be a bug, so that's all good. The guy who is our primary contact didn't want to believe me that I found it though. Look mister, I may be younger and cuter than you but I can run a SQL query, okay? Just--yes, I am sure. :b I had to get all Carnegie on him and suggest how I would word the reply to the customer so we aren't presenting my analysis as The Final Answer. Well, I just got copied on his reply and it was what I said, almost word for word. SNICKER SNORT.
And now to start the work I came in today to do...
